The Beginning of Originals

Date: January 16, 2025

Hey,

What if today was the day you decided to stop waiting for the "perfect moment"? What if the moment is now?

I’m so excited to bring you the very first edition of Originals. I’ve always believed that the best way to get started on anything is just to start—so here we are.

I was born and raised in Jodhpur, a small town in the west of India. As I write this, I’m surrounded by familiar streets, countless memories, and the tranquil charm that only small towns can offer. But I've learned that progress often requires us to leave our comfort zones. This newsletter is my way of sharing those reflections, lessons, and insights that have shaped my journey.

Why This Newsletter Exists

For the past year, I kept telling myself, "I’ll start the newsletter next month. I’ll wait for the perfect moment." But here’s the truth: the perfect time doesn’t exist. Today, I decided to leap, and I hope you’ll join me on this journey.

The goal of Originals is to share reflections and lessons from books, podcasts, conversations, and personal experiences. I hope you find value in these thoughts and that they inspire action in your own life.

Something to Think About: FEEL THE FEAR & DO IT ANYWAY!

Ever felt afraid of taking the next step? Regret is a powerful force.
There are regrets you can’t change, regrets you can fix, and regrets you can prevent.

One regret you can prevent is not taking action now. If there’s something you’ve been putting off, what’s stopping you? What’s one small step you can take today to avoid future regret?

Build the Life You Want

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

— Rumi

Real change always starts within. You can’t change the world unless you first change yourself. Take a moment this week to reflect on this quote. What areas of your life do you need to evolve to step into the person you need to become?

What You’ll Find Here

Each week, I’ll share key insights on:

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Athletics

  • Career decisions

  • Academics

  • Life in general

These aren’t just abstract ideas—they are lessons I’ve learned from my own experiences.

Current Reads

The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss
This book is a goldmine of practical ideas on how to design a life that’s both productive and fulfilling. I’ll be sharing my top takeaways in future editions.

Something Worth Listening To

Check out this conversation between Narendra Modi X Nikhil Kamath.

They talk about India's evolving economy and the intersection of business, politics, and technology. It’s a must-listen for anyone interested in growth and impact.

Final Thoughts

Half of January is already behind us, and I finally started something I’ve always wanted to start. It’s a small but powerful win. Starting the year with a new mindset—focused on building systems, learning, implementing, and most importantly, showing the work.

It feels so good to stop waiting for the "perfect" moment and take action, even if it's imperfect. If there’s something you’ve been putting off, take that first step today. You don’t need to wait.

Thank you for being part of Originals! This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

See you next week,
Yashwardhan
